Breakfast in Antwerp | September.

People are often afraid to go somewhere by themselves. Me, however, I love a little me-time. When you travel alone, you have no choice but to go eat somewhere by yourself. That's how I learned to love it. A beautiful interior, good music, delicious food, warm drinks and a good book is all I need not to feel lonely. Seriously, I think you should try it. Just make sure not to get too antisocial and ask a friend to join you from time to time.

I grew up in Borgerhout. In my eyes it used to be a neighborhood where you would only come if you lived there or came to visit someone. But they recently took things to another level. Small events, markets, coffeeshops, restaurants, bakeries and parties began to show up. One of these restaurants / coffee places is September.

You can go there for coffee, tea, wine, breakfast, lunch or pie on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. And they serve dinner on Mondays and apericena on Fridays. Check out their website for the Monday evening menu (vegetarian every other week). It's just around my corner so I often get tempted to grab my books and go study at September. I think anyone would pick studying on a marble table over studying at home.

This was the first time I went there for breakfast and I will definitely do it again. I got a rose tea and granola with lime and ginger confit which was delicious. Everything is also very reasonable priced which is always a beautiful bonus.

I strongly recommend paying a visit to September for those of you who live in Antwerp or those who are planning to visit this beautiful city.

Dinner in Antwerp | September. (MOVED)

I know, I know,  september is over. Not only the month came to an end but also the pop-up restaurant that carries the same name. But, just like months return every year, this restaurant will too. In fact, we won't even have to wait a year for it to come back. The owners of september. are planning on opening their restaurant again in just a few months! The only things that will change are the location and the menu. Even though it's not september anymore, the restaurant will keep carrying it's name. I will definitely let you know where and when you'll find september. as soon as I get my hands on the information.

Since it's such a successful place, the only way to get a spot at september. is by making a reservation. The menu is very restricted, but doesn't everyone know that quality is more important than quantity? So you don't really get to choose what you have for dinner but I bet you will definitely like what's on your plate! If you're a vegetarian, there will be another dish waiting for you! The evening I went, everything was seafood related. Although I'm that "I-don't-like-any-form-of-fish-unless-it's-a-sushi kinda girl" I really enjoyed the dinner we had.

Another thing that I really liked about september., was the interior. Excuse me but... "wow". I don't think anything has gotten me more into that winter-mood than the wooden tables, the candlelights and the coziness of this restaurant.

Remember the cups I talked about in my blogpost on how to make Muhammara? Voici!

I can't wait till the restaurant opens its doors again, so I can go back and you can go have a bite too! Keep checking my blog if you want to stay updated on september. and my other favorite places in Antwerp.

What I've been listening to - SEPTEMBER

Dear reader, do I even have to explain the way music can make me feel? Don't we all know that feeling one particular song can give us? How the butterflies in your stomach seem to escape to every single body part when that beat finally drops? How we replay the song because we weren't paying attention and missed our favorite part? How we start screaming and jumping around at a party when our jam comes on (maybe that one's just me)?
Like most people I can't tell you what kind of music I listen to because I listen to every-thing. I go from dropping low on A$AP to crying in my bed on Bon Iver to baking Christmas cookies on jazz music.
Every month I make a playlist of all the songs that give me the goosebumps and all those other feelings I mentioned before. What I love about monthly playlists is that whenever I listen to them, even if it's in a year, I will feel exactly the same way as I did while making that playlist. So whenever I want to feel as happy as I do now, I just put on my september 2014 playlist, and I will relive everything all over again. I hope you enjoy my playlist as much as I do.
